If you’re a bloke you could be put off from attempting yoga as a quick search of the internet will show you images of someone doing a pose which makes you ache from just looking at it! Trust me, it doesn’t have to be like that to get the benefits of a Yoga practice.
Basic functional movements are a good place to start, and from this foundation you build strength and knowledge and can move onto something more challenging for you.. AND that’s the key, ‘challenging for YOU’. Yoga is a personal practice, although, yes we do practice in a room with others but, it's your body and your journey.
I run a 5 week beginners course on Saturday mornings (register here- www.yogajak,com.au/registration/html ) Each week these class take you through around 5 poses focusing on alignment and positioning of hands & feet etc. Each week we'll put these poses into a mini routine which will grow week by week. We also go over breathing techniques and an introduction to meditation. You also get to have a little sleep at the end! (it’s not really a sleep its called Savasana but more on that in class) Go here to see times dates etc. www.yogajak.com.au/classes/html
