Greetings a welcome to the Beginners Series of Videos. These videos will get you up and running showing you some of the 'bread and butter' poses of Yoga and how to execute them safely. So start from the top, and work your way down! If you've got any mates interested in trying out a Yoga Class then please share the page link with them. The more men practicing Yoga the better.
What to wear to a Yoga class and some Yoga mat basics.
In this video I talk about what to wear and foot positioning on the mat so you don't fall flat on your face.
Neck shoulders and spine
We start from a seated position in this video and practice a gentle routine which I use a lot and is great start to a class. The movements are good for neck and shoulder pain or tightness. and help improve mobility in the spine.
Sun Salutations
It would be very rare that I don't include a Sun Salutation flow in a Yoga class. I was once told by a Yoga teacher that if we only practiced Sun Salutations then that would be enough! There are so many options to this sequence but here we'll go over the basics.
Warrior 2
Here is one of the poses I talked about in the beginning videos where you have your feet in line. Check it out and get familiar with all the alignment cues!
A 50 minute Yoga class
Here's a good solid 50 minute class for you, after you have been through all the videos and are comfortable with everything so far (hopefully!!) I'm introducing you to the hardest pose of all in this class, it's called Savasana, it means 'Corpse Pose'. Have I got your curiosity going? Then press play and enjoy brother! See you on the mat.
