Movement & Meditation for Men

Maybe you’ve heard about the benefits of Meditation - but reckon you can’t do it? Did you know that the mind is actually designed to think? A lot! But there are tools we can use to train the mind. Forget about the image of a guy floating above the ground sat cross legged - it’s not all airy fairy stuff. Just like when you go to the gym to do a workout, you know you will only see results with regular sessions. Whether our goal is to strengthen the body or strengthen the mind, commitment is the key if you want results.
The Yoga poses or Asanas have been used by men for centuries to get their heads away from the busy busy day and into a focused state where they could switch off. This was done by concentrating on the movements of the body and also focusing on the breath, using the breath as an anchor for the mind. Once they’d gone through a few poses they found it easier to meditate.
Learning to see the thoughts as they come along and let them pass without getting involved in them is a skill you’ll learn with a regular practice.
These evening sessions combine movement with meditation and will help ease stress and anxiety, increase grey matter in your brain (that’s the stuff that helps with memory!) and calm you down if you’ve got a short fuse.
No experience is required for these sessions and you'll be welcomed into a great community of blokes.
