With the month of Movember upon us it’s time to grow a tash for a good cause.
We’ve also decided to keep the October 5 class pass special going for the month of November. All the cash from the November special will be donated to the Movember Foundation. So if you’ve got any mates who are interested or, any bloke you know who should get interested (!) then get them along. They can register here- https://www.yogajak.com.au/registration.html and we’ll send them a link for the pass.

A recent addition to the YogaJak blokes is Paul Monaghan. This guy has written a book called ‘Chicks love that Romantic Crap’. The write-up describes the book as, ‘a book for guys who have no idea where to start with romance or just want to lift their romance game.’!
Paul very kindly gave me a copy. My wife seems happy that I’m reading it…........ www.chickslovethatromanticcrap.com I recently started going for coffees and bacon and eggs every Friday morning down at Mooloolaba Surf Club in the Members Area. The lads who run a men’s group called ‘Grab Life By The Balls’ put on the breaky. Come down for a chin wag and meet some other men. 6.30 - 9 am Fridays.
Grab Life By The Balls is a worldwide movement of empowered, inspired and on purpose men; who lead by example, who are role models for their mates, family, work colleagues and their community. Creating positive shifts in consciousness for men, women and children across the globe. Check out their facebook page here.. https://www.facebook.com/grablifebytheballsmovement/ I found out a disturbing fact recently. That 6 men a day commit suicide in Australia. That’s over 2000 lives gone, every year. How sad, and totally preventable.
World Mental Health Day has just happened. It’s great that this issue gets so much more notice these days, rather than mental health being shoved under the carpet. For men, the typical approach of been told to ‘toughen up’, or ‘putting a lid on it’, is fast becoming a thing of the past. It’s so engrained in me though, and probably all of my peers around my age. It’s how I was brought up - and it’s not just your parents who would have consciously or sub-consciously conditioned you, it would have been your mates and society as well. There were a few occasions in the past when I’ve caught myself automatically telling my son to stop crying. I don’t think I’ve used the phrase, ‘toughen up’, but I’ve probably used an equivalent Pommie expression. SO are YOU OK????? It’s so good to see the question being asked. |
